Review & Giveaway: Win A Hippychick Kids’ Fleece Lined Waterproof Suit

With Winter upon us, making sure that your little ones are protected from the wind, rain and cold temperature becomes pretty important – well, unless you want them to resemble a windswept, defrosting fish finger.

I’ve therefore teamed up with Hippychick, the multi-award winning designer, sourcer and distributor of baby wear and accessories, to offer you the chance to win one of their fleece lined waterproof suits for your kid. To enter, simply login to Rafflecopter below and complete the entry requirements.

I wouldn’t consider us the most outdoorsy of families, but living in the countryside, we do venture out every day. Be it walking the dog at Ashridge Estate, watching the gliders over Dunstable Downs or playing in the woods behind our house, we’re pretty spoilt with what’s on our doorstep.

As the sprog gets older, I can see us spending more and more time outside. She’s recently started walking, which opens up a whole new world for the little adventurer, be it doing things like climbing trees, jumping in puddles or playing hide and seek. As such, having the right kit and gear becomes pretty important to ensure she’s ready for action in any weather.

Having worked with Hippychick on reviews of their sleeved bib and splash mat and their baby footmuff and buggi lights, I’ve always had my eye on getting Toddler L one of their waterproof suits. Now that she’s old enough, that’s exactly what happened when the folk from Hippychick kindly sent me a burgundy fleece-lined all in one waterproof suit for review and one to giveaway as it is their product of the month for December.

Having dressed the sprog in the waterproof suit plenty of times over the last month or so, I can honestly say that I’m really pleased with it. I’ll often put her in the suit when taking the dog out for a walk. Toddler L will either be in her pushchair or SmarTrike, but it also gives me the opportunity to let her take some tentative steps outside. Whatever mode of transport, she appears comfortable in the waterproof suit and I’m happy in the knowledge that she is protected whatever the weather.

We have the fleece-lined waterproof suit in a size 12-18 months, however it is also available in three larger sizes which go up to four-years old. As Toddler L is only a wee one, the suit is on the big side, but it does give her plenty of growing room and means she can wear layers underneath.

Cleverly though, the suit comes with Velcro tabs on the hood, wrist and waist, meaning that it can be adjusted to fit your little one – we’ve made the suit as tight as possible, but the great thing is that it can be expanded to grow with your kid. As such, I can see this lasting a long time, maybe even into Winter next year. Even when it’s on the big side and made tight with the Velcro, the sprog still has the ability to move around easily, be it on her feet or shuffling on her arse.

The outer skin of the suit is made from high quality Teflon coated Polyester which protects against the rain and means that it can easily be wiped clean if it gets dirty. The inner lining is made from Polyester Fleece, which feels warm and soft, and I think is the same stuff used in the baby footmuff which we’ve reviewed previously. It also has fully taped seams and elastic stirrups on the ankles which you can put over their shoes, meaning that your kid is pretty much as protected as they’re going to be from the elements.

This makes the fleece-lined suits waterproof, windproof and breathable so that your little one is kept comfortable, warm and dry whatever the weather. We’ve been out during the day when it’s raining and out at night when it’s been pretty chilly, and the sprog hasn’t minded at all when she’s been in her Hippychick all-in-one. From my perspective, if she’s happy in it, then I’m happy with it.

I also like the appearance of the suit and think that the tot looks pretty bloody cute when toddling around in it. As mentioned, we have it in burgundy, but it is also available in red, blue, navy and pink. It’s quite plain to look at, but the front zip, piping around the arms and Hippychick logo help to break up the solid colour. It’s also worth noting that the suit is machine washable which is really handy for outdoorsy kit like this, although we’re yet to wash it so I can’t comment on how well it washes.

So, to be in with a chance of winning a Hippychick fleece-lined all-in-one waterproof like Toddler L’s (in your choice of colour and size), which is worth £37.50, simply login to Rafflecopter below and complete one, or a combination, of the optional entry options. Good luck and happy comping!

This would be so great for our rainy days out. I love Hippychick products, their mattress protector is genius! #TriedTested

  • ‘Tis the season for the all-in-one. Tin Box Tot’s is at nursery most of the time leaving me a bit stuck on days like today when we were out and about in the damp. She can’t help but jump in puddles. Thank goodness for the abundance of garden centres around where we live. I was able to drive in for a back up pair of wellies after one splash too many!

We moved and we are still yet to visit our main big local park I would love to take my littlest girl for a little stroll in this. Then I know her ‘everything’ isn’t going to get wrecked on one outing.
