Review & Giveaway: Create Your Own Onesie With £100 Voucher For The All-In-One Company

I’ve written previously about how my stay-at-home dad fashion sense is geared more towards comfort and practicality rather than style. However, I can now have all three due to a recent collaboration with The All-in-One Company! This has seen me design awesome bespoke onesies for Toddler L and myself – but what’s more, they’re also giving you the chance to win a £100 voucher to spend with them so that you can create your own unique onesie.

To be in with a chance of winning, you can enter view Rafflecopter below, however first, let me share a bit more info about The All-in-One Company and my experience of designing, receiving and wearing my colourful onesie. The All-in-One Company are the leading Worldwide manufacturer in bespoke onesie design – you build your onesie online, then they are lovingly hand-made in their Northumberland factory by a highly skilled team.

Before receiving our onesies, we obviously had to design them first. This is done via the ‘create your own onesie’ section on The All-in-One Company website. This takes you through a number of different steps which allows you to customise every single aspect of your onesie ranging from size, fabric and colours through to adding accessories like pockets, hoods, tails, feet or text.

I decided to make Toddler L’s onesie first. Having consulted the size chart, I went with a ‘baby’ onesie in size ’12-18 months’ as the sprog is a bit of a shrimp. The next stage was to choose the fabric from the eight different ones available, including fleece, cotton and bamboo towelling – this then allows you to see the wide range of colours and patterns available in the fabrics.

I must have spent the best part of half an hour looking through all of the different options. There were some VERY cool patterns, however not all are available in each fabric style. I decided to go with the cotton option so that Toddler L could use also use the onesie as a sleep suit, then brought it to life by selecting some of the 27 different patterns for each panel. As the sprog loves anything to do with animals at the moment, I made an animal themed onesie which included cats, birds, koalas, snails, flamingos and whales.

The option wasn’t available to add pockets on a baby onesie, so I skipped to the next step which was the choice of a hood and / or feet. I didn’t bother with a hood due to the fact she’d be sleeping in it, but decided to add attached feet so that she’d be fully covered. This then gave me the option to choose different colours / patterns for the feet panels.

The final step was personalisation – here, I decided to add the text “Toddler L” to the front of the onesie and was able to select the font and font colour. I could also add a monogram or an image, but didn’t bother with that. And that was that. Toddler L’s awesome animal-themed onesie was designed.

Now it was my turn! As you’d expect, there were a lot more options to choose from when it came to the adult onesies. Using the various size guides and accompanying photos, I went with a 36 inch chest, 30 inch inside leg, thumb cuff style with a standard front zip.

The next step was to choose the fabric, so I selected the organic cotton sweatshirt. There were fewer colour / pattern options – I counted 12 – compared to the cotton I’d used for Toddler L, but I was happy with that as I didn’t need a huge choice. After playing around a bit with the design, I went with a star theme – pink and purple stars on the front, green stars on the back and white stars on the arms. Because I could, I went with koala and panda prints on my thumb cuffs.

The next step was pockets. Again, the example photos next to the drop down menus helped me decide that I wanted side pockets, a sleeve pocket and an i-Poc-it. When you’ve got a toddler, you find yourself carrying around loads of crap, so I imagined that these would all come in handy. The i-Poc-it required me to choose a fabric, so I went with the green stars to contrast with the purple / pink.

Now we got onto the wacky stuff! The add-ons section allowed me to include loads of random bits to the onesie, for instance, I could have chosen antlers, dinosaur spikes or a lion tail. I was sooooo tempted to add something like this, but decided to be a bit more functional – the last thing I wanted was to be sat on the settee watching CBeebies with a unicorn horn blocking my vision or a zebra’s tail getting stuck up my arse. Instead, I simply chose a standard collar style, added detached feet with non-slip soles and ribbed ankle cuffs. Boring, but functional!

The final part of my awesome onesie creation was the personalisation. Similar to Toddler L’s, I added a matching “The DADventurer” to the front of mine then added it to my basket. The creation process had actually been pretty fun – I’d been surprised with all of the options available, really liked how you could see the onesie come to life when you selected different options and enjoyed making it exactly how I wanted it. I enjoy personalised gifts and this was probably the most personalised product I’ve ever been able to make.

Something to note is that everything you add – such as a hood, pocket or feet – cost extra, so your onesie can soon mount up in price. The baby onesie starts at £44.50 and the mens one is £64.50, however by the time I’d added on the stuff I wanted, the two onesies came to a combined total of over £150.

It took two weeks for the order to arrive, which is at the back end of the 7-14 days quoted on the website. Something really really cool is that you can actually visit The All-In-One Company HQ in the North East to watch your full onesie being made. I would have loved to have gone along and seen this, however it was a bit far for a day trip. Still, this is a pretty unique USP.

On opening the package when it arrived, I was greeted with two branded drawstring bags containing our onesies. After taking some obligatory ‘blogger’ photos, I stripped us down and put on our new garments. The first thing I noticed was the vibrancy of the colours and patterns of the fabric – I’d obviously chosen them so liked them, but in the flesh, they looked even cooler than online.

My onesie was really warm and comfortable, plus I really liked the addition of the thumb cuffs and pockets that I’d added to my design. Since getting it, I’ve worn it pretty much all of the time – even quite shamelessly when the Tesco online food shop was delivered.

I’m happy to admit that Toddler L’s was the coolest though, with the mishmash patterns and colours creating a very striking look. Despite getting a size smaller, her onesie definitely still has a lot of growing room, so I’d imagine she’ll still be wearing it this time next year.

All in all, I’ve really enjoyed our experience with The All-in-One Company. The onesies feel a bit on the pricey side, however for this, you get to fully design your very own unique onesie, receive a great quality garment which will last for a long time and are supporting British trade. Plus, you get to look pretty cool – particularly if you get a matching one with your toddler. Twinning is winning!
