I’m not going to lie. I’m not the grrrrrreatest golfer on the planet. When it comes to ability, I’m probably more Tony the Tiger than Tiger Woods. Although I’m sure they both probably enjoy a good, firm stroke. See what I did there?!
Still, that doesn’t mean that I haven’t enjoyed playing golf when I’ve had the chance. Although my experience is limited, I’ve played a couple of nine-hole courses and been to a few driving ranges before. Whilst doing so, I’ve found that there’s something quite therapeutic and rousing about smacking the hell out of a ball or carefully sinking a putt.
My forte with a club though is actually on the crazy golf scene. I don’t mean to boast, but I’ve played on courses all around the country (with my mum and dad) and I once won a certificate by finishing second to last in a kid’s crazy golf tournament at a holiday park. I’ve even played crazy golf whilst babywearing in order to give the missus an advantage. No need to be jealous. Some people are just born with natural talent.
One of my aims for 2016 is to take this talent onto the golf course and play a few rounds. Since becoming a stay-at-home dad, my best mate is now my retired, 60-year old, golf-loving neighbour, so we’ve had conversations about having a few games on some of the local courses he plays at.
It was therefore with interest that I recently saw this infographic from Golfscape – reproduced below for your perusal – which shows their picks of the top 12 golf clubs of Christmas. I may just have to add one or two of these recommendations to my Christmas list! Will you be doing the same? Let me know below.
