I’m not one for bragging or blowing my own trumpet – although I actually did reach Grade 8 trumpet whilst at secondary school, don’t you know – but I hope you can forgive me on this rare occasion, because…
…I’ve been named number 5 on a list of the Top 10 UK Dad Blogs!
The list, which is compiled by the awesome folk over at parent blogger community Tots 100, is based on the ranking system they use to grade all 8,500+ parent bloggers in the UK – as an aside humblebrag, I managed to crack the Top 200 on this list in April which was also pretty cool.
I’m not quite sure how my little ole blog has reached a point where it’s rubbing shoulders with some of the behemoths of the dad blogging world, well in the UK at least, but when you get great news like this I’ve learnt to not ask questions about the why or how. Instead, grab a cider, eat some chocolate, be proud of what you’ve achieved and reflect on the people who have helped you get to that point – in fact, that’s exactly what I’m doing as I write this!
When I started blogging 10 months ago, little did I know that I’d meet so many awesome people also sharing their parenting journeys. What’s more, never in my wildest dreams did I envisage that people would read, let alone like and keep returning to, my blog. For that, I’m very appreciative.
I don’t really know how I’ve managed to get to this point and I don’t intend to sound like a D-list celebrity accepting some type of obscure acting gong, but I’m very chuffed that I have. What I do know though is that I wouldn’t have even got to 999th on the list if it wasn’t for my fellow bloggers and lovely audience.
So, thank you to everyone who has ever read, commented and shared one of my posts, as well as to each person who has taken the time to interact with me on social media. This may be one of the most wankerish posts I’ve ever written and I feel like a right dick for writing it, but I felt that I should and hope that the sentiment comes across as intended.
Now go and check out the other great bloggers that make up the Top 10 UK Dad Blogger list for May 2015. With all of the vagina in the parent blogging world, there is a definite need to support, encourage and share more of the awesome penis-laden blogs.
