With just a few weeks to go until BritMums Live 2015 – arguably the UK’s largest blogging event – I thought I better get my arse into gear and actually start thinking about the fact that I’m coming along. I ummed and ahhed for quite a few months about whether to attend before I bit the bullet last and bought a ticket.
I do have a sponsor for the event, so keep an eye out for a future post when I introduce the partnership – in the meantime, I’ll just drop a little hint that it is a company who I’ve worked with previously who create and distribute some awesome baby and children products.
In true jumping on the bandwagon fashion, I’ve decided to join the I’m going to BritMums Live Linky – as such, I’ve half-heartedly answered below the questions that were posed to me. Enjoy!
Twitter ID: @the_dadventurer
Height: 5′ 9” ish
Hair: I have hair and grew it all by myself. I tend to keep it on my head, although I do also have hair in other places. If you ask nicely, and get me a couple of ciders, I might show you.
Eyes: Yes, I have two of these. Usually these are in my eye sockets as I find that they can often be easily misplaced which can cause problems when trying to look around.
Is this your first blogging conference? Yep – I started blogging in July last year so feel that I’m probably at that stage where I should show my face (including hair and eyes) in real life rather than just on the web.
Are you attending both days? Indeed I am. That means that if you’ve purposefully avoided me on the Friday, chances are I’ll find you on the Saturday…
What are you most looking forward to at BritMums Live 2015? The chance to meet other bloggers, the opportunity to learn stuff from those more experienced than me (I’m only talking about blogging so don’t get your hopes up) and a nice lie-in.
What are you wearing? No idea – that’s a bit far ahead for me to even think about. I’m currently wearing superhero pyjamas and a hoodie, so expect it to be something not too dissimilar. Also, just to keep you on your toes, I may or may not be sporting a beard. My usual look was altered yesterday when I shaved off the old facial fuzz and I am yet to decide whether it will be back in time for BritMums. Regardless of what I’m wearing and what’s on my face, just look out for one of the few bloggers there with a penis – if you ask if their name is Dave, you’ll have something like a 1 in 10 chance of it being me.
What do you hope to gain from BritMums Live 2015? I hope to cement existing relationships whilst building new ones with bloggers and brands. I’m also looking for ideas, tips and advice which I can put into practice to improve my blog and writing. Anything else is a bonus.
Do you have any tips to pass on to others who may not have been before? Nope – I’ve not been before so I’m a newbie to all of this face-to-face blogging stuff. I’d probably suggest putting down your phone though to make the most of being there – I have visions of loads of people stood in a silent room talking to the person next to them on Twitter rather than in person. If that’s what it’s like, then I could have saved myself the cost of the ticket and transport!
